تزامناً مع إحتفال مصر والقوات المسلحة بالذكرى الثانية والخمسين لإنتصارات أكتوبر المجيدة ، إحتفلت القوات الجوية بعيدها الثالث والتسعين على نشأتها والذى يواكب أيضاً ذكرى معركة المنصورة الجوية عام 1973 ، وخلال وقائع المؤتمر الصحفى الذى عُقد بمناسبة الإحتفال ، أكد اللواء طيار أح / عمرو عبدالرحمن صقر قائد القوات الجوية أن رجال القوات الجوية يحملون على عاتقهم أمانة حماية سماء الوطن وبسط السيطرة الجوية على كافة الإتجاهات الإستراتيجية للدولة المصرية .
كما هنأ رجال القوات الجوية من مختلف تخصصاتهم بعيدهم ، مشيراً إلى أن رجال القوات الجوية سطروا واحدة من أعظم دروس القتال الجوى التى برهنت على كفائتهم القتالية ومهاراتهم الإستثنائية حينما حاول العدو الهجوم على القواعد الجوية فى يوم 14 أكتوبر عام 1973 ، فتفاجأ بنسور القوات الجوية تلقنه درساً قاسياً لن يمحى من ذاكرته رغم تفوقه النوعى والكمى ، حيث تصدت له فى أطول معركة جوية إمتدت لأكثر من 50 دقيقة وسميت ” معركة المنصورة الجوية ” ، وكان ذلك اليوم نبراساً وعيداً يضئ طريق العزة والكرامة لمن يحمل أمانة الدفاع عن الوطن من بعدهم لتظل راية الوطن عالية خفاقة .
وأكد قائد القوات الجوية على الرؤية الثاقبة للقيادة السياسية والقيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة فى تطوير وتحديث القوات الجوية بإنضمام أحدث طرازات الطائرات التى تعزز من إمكاناتها وقدراتها القتالية للحفاظ على أمن مصر وإستقرارها ضد كافة التهديدات .

Egyptian Air Force Celebrates Its 93rd Anniversary

Coinciding with Egypt and the Armed Forces’ celebrations of the 52nd anniversary of the Glorious October Victories, the Egyptian Air Force commemorated its 93rd anniversary, which also marks the anniversary of the Air Battle of Mansoura in 1973.
During a press conference held on the occasion, Major General Amr Abdel Rahman Saqr, Commander of the Air Force, affirmed that the men of the Egyptian Air Force bear the solemn responsibility of safeguarding the nation’s skies and maintaining air superiority across all strategic directions of the Egyptian state.
He extended his congratulations to all members of the Air Force in their various specializations, noting that they had written one of the greatest chapters in the history of aerial combat — a testament to their exceptional skills and combat efficiency. On 14 October 1973, when the enemy launched attacks on Egyptian air bases, they were met by the Falcons of the Egyptian Air Force, who delivered a resounding lesson that remains etched in memory despite the enemy’s numerical and technological superiority. The Egyptian pilots engaged in what became the longest air battle in history, lasting over 50 minutes, later known as the Battle of Mansoura. That day became a beacon of pride and honor, inspiring future generations entrusted with the defense of the homeland and ensuring that Egypt’s flag continues to fly high.
Major General Saqr also highlighted the visionary leadership of the political and military command in developing and modernizing the Air Force through the acquisition of the latest generations of aircraft, enhancing its operational capabilities to safeguard Egypt’s security and stability against all forms of threats .
