إحتفلت القوات البحرية بعيدها الثامن والخمسين الذى يوافق ذكرى يوم الحادى والعشرين من شهر أكتوبر عام 1967م اليوم الذى سطر فيه رجالها واحدة من أعظم الإنتصارات بإغراق المدمرة ” إيلات ” أمام سواحل مدينة بورسعيد الباسلة ، وخلال وقائع المؤتمر الصحفى الذى عقد بمقر قيادة القوات البحرية للإحتفال بتلك المناسبة ، أكد اللواء بحرى أ ح / محمود عادل محمود فوزى قائد القوات البحرية أن الإحتفال بهذا اليوم الخالد الذى نستلهم من ذكراه قوة العقيدة القتالية المصرية يثبت للعالم أجمع أن قواتنا المسلحة قادرة على مواجهة أى تحديات لحماية سيادة وطننا الحبيب .
مشيراً إلى الرؤية الحكيمة للقيادة السياسية والقيادة العامة للقوات المسلحة بالإستمرار فى تحديث وتطوير القدرات القتالية للقوات البحرية من خلال تزويدها بأحدث الوحدات ذات نظم التسليح المتطورة والإرتقاء بكافة أساليب وطرق التدريب للفرد المقاتل لبناء قوة بحرية قادرة على حماية مقدرات الدولة المصرية ومياهها الإقليمية بما تحتويه من مكتسبات وثروات قومية .
وإختتم كلمته بتوجيه التهنئة لرجال القوات البحرية بمناسبة الإحتفال بتلك المناسبة الجليلة ، مقدماً لهم الشكر على ما يبذلونه من جهد وما يقدمونه من عطاء لمواصلة مسيرة من سبقوهم حتى تظل راية الوطن عالية خفاقة ، مجدداً العهد على أن يظل مقاتلو القوات البحرية فى أعلى درجات الإستعداد القتالى لتنفيذ كافة المهام التى توكل إليهم مهما كلفهم ذلك من تضحيات .

The Egyptian Navy celebrated its 58th anniversary, marking October 21, 1967—the day on which the valiant men of the Navy inscribed one of the most remarkable victories in military history by sinking the Israeli destroyer Eilat off the coast of the heroic city of Port Said. This glorious event stands as a testament to the bravery, faith, and unwavering determination of the Egyptian fighter in defense of his homeland.
During a press conference held at the headquarters of the Naval Forces to commemorate the occasion, Rear Admiral Mahmoud Adel Mahmoud Fawzy, Commander of the Egyptian Navy, affirmed that the celebration of this historic day—one that embodies the strength of Egyptian combat doctrine—demonstrates to the entire world the Egyptian Armed Forces’ enduring capability to confront all challenges and safeguard the sovereignty of the beloved homeland.
He further highlighted the wise vision of the political leadership and the General Command of the Armed Forces, emphasizing their continuous efforts to modernize and enhance the Navy’s combat capabilities. This is being achieved through the acquisition of the latest naval units equipped with advanced weapons systems, as well as the constant development of training methods to build a highly qualified and combat-ready naval force capable of protecting Egypt’s national interests, territorial waters, and vital resources.
In conclusion, the Commander of the Navy extended his heartfelt congratulations to all naval personnel on this distinguished occasion, expressing his deep appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice in upholding the proud traditions of their predecessors. He reaffirmed that the warriors of the Egyptian Navy will remain at the highest levels of combat readiness, fully prepared to carry out all missions entrusted to them—no matter the cost—to ensure the security and dignity of the homeland.
