يُعرض اليوم الإثنين 17 نوفمبر، في إطار عروض الجالا بمهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي الـ46، فيلم “الأشياء التي تقتلها” للمخرج علي رضا خاتمي، في عرضه الأول بالشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، وذلك في تمام الساعة 9:00 مساءً على المسرح الكبير بدار الأوبرا المصرية.
الفيلم، وهو عمل روائي طويل يمتد لـ113 دقيقة، ومن إنتاج مشترك بين تركيا وكندا وفرنسا وبولندا، يقدم تجربة سينمائية نفسية عميقة تتبع قصة علي، الأستاذ الجامعي الذي يجد نفسه مطاردًا بظلال وفاة والدته المريبة. ومع تورطه في تنفيذ عمل انتقامي بارد الدم بطلب من عالم البستنة الغامض لديه، تبدأ سلسلة من الأسرار العائلية القديمة في الانكشاف، بينما يضيق الخناق عليه من قبل الشرطة، لتنهشه الشكوك ويصبح مضطرًا لمواجهة أعماق روحه وما تحمله من صراعات خفية.
علي رضا خاتمي هو كاتب ومخرج ومنتج حائز على عدة جوائز، يقيم في كندا. وُلد في قبيلة خمسة الأصلية بجنوب شرق إيران، ويستمد من تراثها الغني في السرد الشفهي أسلوبًا سينمائيًا خاصًا يمزج بين الواقعية السحرية والتعليق الاجتماعي العميق. عُرضت أعماله السابقة، ومن بينها “آيات النسيان” و”آيات الأرض”، لأول مرة في مهرجاني البندقية وكان، وحصدت تقديرًا واسعًا وجوائز بارزة.

Today: World Premiere of “The Things That Kill Her” in the Middle East and North Africa at Cairo International Film Festival
Today, Monday, November 17, the film The Things That Kill Her directed by Ali Reza Khatami will have its Middle East and North Africa premiere as part of the Gala presentations at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, screening at 9:00 PM on the Grand Theatre stage at the Cairo Opera House.
The film, a 113-minute narrative feature produced through a co-production between Turkey, Canada, France, and Poland, offers a deep psychological cinematic experience. It follows Ali, a university professor haunted by the shadows of his mother’s suspicious death. Involvement in a cold-blooded act of revenge at the behest of a mysterious horticulturist triggers a series of old family secrets to unravel. Meanwhile, the police close in, and Ali is consumed by doubt, compelled to confront the depths of his soul and its hidden struggles.
Ali Reza Khatami is an award-winning writer, director, and producer based in Canada. Born in the original Fivah tribe of southeastern Iran, he draws on his rich oral heritage to craft a cinematic style blending magical realism and profound social critique. His previous works, including Ayat al-Nisyan and Ayat al-Ard, premiered at Venice and Cannes film festivals, earning wide acclaim and notable awards.
