يُعرض اليوم الثلاثاء 18 نوفمبر، في إطار عروض الجالا بالدورة 46 لمهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي، فيلم “ضد السينما” للمخرج علي سعيد، في عرضه العالمي الأول ضمن مسابقة آفاق السينما العربية، وذلك في تمام الساعة 6:00 مساء على المسرح الصغير بدار الأوبرا المصرية.
“ضد السينما” هو فيلم وثائقي يمتد لـ118 دقيقة، من إنتاج سعودي، ويُقدم باللغة العربية. يروي العمل الحكاية المثيرة لنشأة وتطور السينما السعودية من الداخل، عبر تتبُّع جيل أطفال الثمانينات الذي أحب السينما رغم غياب صالات العرض حينها، وواجه تحديات بيئة اجتماعية وثقافية كانت تقف ضد هذا الفن. كما يكشف الفيلم ملامح الحياة السينمائية في السعودية قبل عام 1979، مستقصيًا بدايات العروض ومحاولات الإنتاج الأولى، من خلال شهادات روّاد السينما السعودية، في رحلة بحثية امتدت خمس سنوات.
علي سعيد، مخرج وكاتب سعودي، قدّم عددًا من الأعمال التي نالت جوائز دولية، من بينها أفلام “ليمون أخضر”، و”بوصلة”، و”ترياق”. كما اختير فيلمه الروائي القصير “رقم هاتف قديم” ليكون فيلم الافتتاح في مهرجان الأفلام السعودية لعام 2022، وحصد جائزة أفضل فيلم عربي في مهرجان البحرين السينمائي الدولي عام 2023، بالإضافة إلى جائزة لجنة التحكيم في مهرجان القدس السينمائي الدولي بغزة عام 2022.

يُعد مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي أحد أعرق المهرجانات في العالم العربي وأفريقيا، وأحد أبرز المهرجانات الدولية المعتمدة من الاتحاد الدولي للمنتجين (FIAPF). تأسس عام 1976، ويقام سنويًا تحت رعاية وزارة الثقافة. يحرص المهرجان في كل دورة على الجمع بين البعد الفني والبعد المهني، ما يجعله منصة رئيسية للحوار بين الثقافات وتعزيز حضور السينما العربية على الساحة الدولية.

Today: “Against Cinema” in Its World Premiere within the Arab Horizons Competition at Cairo International Film Festival
Today, Tuesday, November 18, the film Against Cinema directed by Ali Saeed will have its world premiere as part of the Arab Horizons Competition at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival. The screening will take place at 6:00 PM on the Small Theatre stage at the Cairo Opera House.
Against Cinema is a 118-minute documentary produced in Saudi Arabia, presented in Arabic. The film compellingly chronicles the birth and evolution of Saudi cinema from within, following the generation of ’80s children who loved cinema despite the absence of movie theaters at the time and faced the challenges of a socio-cultural environment that opposed this art form. The film also explores the cinematic life in Saudi Arabia before 1979, investigating the beginnings of screenings and early production attempts through testimonies of Saudi cinema pioneers in a five-year research journey.
Ali Saeed, a Saudi director and writer, has created several internationally acclaimed works including Green Lemon, Compass, and Antidote. His short narrative film Old Phone Number was selected as the opening film at the Saudi Film Festival in 2022 and won Best Arab Film at the 2023 Bahrain International Film Festival, as well as the Jury Prize at the 2022 Jerusalem Film Festival in Gaza.
