شارك الفنان حسين فهمي، رئيس مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي، في ندوة نقاشية بعنوان “أعمال غير تقليدية: النمو والابتكار في مشهد متغير” أقيمت بجناح مركز السينما العربية ضمن فعاليات الدورة التاسعة والسبعين لمهرجان كان السينمائي.
أدار الجلسة مايكل روسر، محرر شؤون آسيا والشرق الأوسط في مجلة سكرين إنترناشونال. وضمت قائمة المتحدثين إلى جانب رئيس مهرجان القاهرة، كلًّا من علاء كركوتي، الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة ماد سوليوشنز ومركز السينما العربية، وزيد شاكر، المدير التنفيذي بالإنابة في “فيلم العلا”، وبافي ياسين، مؤسسة ورئيسة لجنة فيلم كردستان، وجهاد جاي عبده، الرئيس التنفيذي للمؤسسة العامة للسينما في دمشق.
ناقشت الجلسة التحديات التي تواجه صناعة السينما في المنطقة، ومنها قلق بعض الجهات والأفراد في الخارج نتيجة تكوينهم أفكارًا غير دقيقة حول وجود أزمات كبرى، وغياب إدراكهم لسير الحياة بشكلها الطبيعي. وتطرق الحضور إلى تأثير الجمهور على نوعية المحتوى المعروض، وتوجه المشاهدين للبحث عن الأعمال الكوميدية، وتأكيد الحاجة الملحة إلى فتح موضوعات جديدة تواكب هذه التغيرات.
وفي كلمته خلال الجلسة، استعرض الفنان حسين فهمي التحولات السريعة التي يشهدها قطاع السينما، محذرا من أن دور العرض تغلق أبوابها في مصر وفي جميع أنحاء العالم وقال: “الأمور تحركت بشكل هائل، وصرنا نجهل هوية الجمهور لغياب التفاعل المباشر معهم. المزاج العام تغير، ويجب أن ندرك أن الجمهور يتأثر بشدة اقتصاديًّا وسياسيًّا. يمكنك إنتاج فيلم، وبحلول وقت عرضه بعد ستة أو سبعة أشهر، تكون الأمور قد تغيرت في المجتمع”.

تأسّس مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي عام 1976، ويقام سنويًا تحت رعاية وزارة الثقافة المصرية، وهو يُصنَّف ضمن مهرجانات الفئة A الدولية، ويحمل الاعتماد الرسمي من الاتحاد الدولي لجمعيات منتجي الأفلام (FIAPF)، بوصفه المهرجان الوحيد في العالم العربي وأفريقيا الحاصل على هذا الاعتماد المرموق.

*President of Cairo International Film Festival from Cannes: The General Mood Has Changed and We No Longer Know the Audience’s Identity*
Actor Hussein Fahmi, President of Cairo International Film Festival, participated in a panel discussion titled “Business Unusual: Growth and Innovation in a Changing Landscape,” held at the Arab Cinema Center pavilion during the 79th Cannes Film Festival.
The session was moderated by Michael Rosser, Asia and Middle East Editor at Screen International. The list of speakers, alongside the President of Cairo International Film Festival, included Alaa Karkouti, CEO of MAD Solutions and Arab Cinema Center; Zaid Shaker, Acting Executive Director of Film AlUla; Bavi Yassin, Founder and Chairperson of Kurdistan Film Commission; and Jihad Jay Abdo, CEO of National Film Organization in Damascus.
The session discussed the challenges facing the film industry in the region, including the concerns of some entities and individuals abroad due to forming inaccurate ideas about the existence of major crises, and their lack of awareness that life proceeds normally. Attendees touched upon the audience’s impact on the type of content screened, viewers’ tendency to search for comedies, and emphasized the urgent need to open new topics that keep pace with these changes.
In his speech during the session, actor Hussein Fahmi reviewed the rapid transformations witnessed by the cinema sector, warning that theaters are closing down in Egypt and all over the world, saying: “Things have moved tremendously, and we no longer know who the audience is due to the lack of direct interaction with them. The general mood has changed, and we must understand that the public is affected enormously, economically and politically. You can produce a movie, and by the time you screen it six or seven months later, things have changed in society.”
