يعلن مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي إطلاق ملتقى «من الكتاب إلى الشاشة» للمرة الأولى هذا العام، ضمن فعاليات «أيام القاهرة لصناعة السينما»، التي تقام خلال الفترة من 11 إلى 20 نوفمبر 2026، في مبادرة جديدة تستهدف إعادة بناء الجسر بين صناعة النشر وصناعة السينما والمحتوى السمعي البصري، وفتح آفاق أوسع أمام تحويل الملكية الفكرية الأدبية المصرية والعربية إلى أعمال تصل إلى الشاشة.
وتشهد الدورة التأسيسية للملتقى مشاركة 10 من كبرى دور النشر المصرية، وهي (بالترتيب الأبجدي): بيت الحكمة، دوّن، ديوان، الرواق، الشروق، العين، الكرمة، الكتب خان، المصرية اللبنانية، ونهضة مصر. وتكتسب هذه المشاركة أهميتها من المكانة الراسخة لهذه الدور التي تتولى نشر أعمال كبار الأدباء والروائيين المصريين، وتحقق إصداراتها نجاحات كبيرة ومبيعات واسعة في سوق القراءة والنشر. وتمتلك هذه الأعمال مقومات درامية وبنية سردية قوية تؤهلها للانتقال بهذا النجاح الجماهيري الموثوق من صفحات الكتب إلى سوق الدراما والسينما، وتوفير محتوى يحظى بقاعدة سابقة من القراء. ويعكس هذا الحضور التنوع الذي يتميز به سوق النشر المصري، وما يضمه من أعمال أدبية وملكية فكرية قابلة لاكتشافها وتطويرها في مجال المحتوى السمعي البصري.

وحول الملتقى، قال الفنان حسين فهمي، رئيس مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي: «الأدب كان دائمًا أحد أهم روافد السينما المصرية، وكثير من الأفلام التي صنعت تاريخ السينما ارتبطت بأعمال أدبية لكبار الكتاب. ومن المهم أن نعيد اكتشاف هذا الرصيد الكبير من الروايات والقصص والسير التي يمكن أن تمنح السينما أعمالًا وشخصيات وحكايات جديدة».
وأضاف: «ملتقى (من الكتاب إلى الشاشة) يأتي في إطار اهتمام مهرجان القاهرة بتطوير الصناعة وخلق مساحات جديدة للتعاون بين مختلف عناصرها، ونأمل أن يمثل خطوة عملية لإعادة بناء العلاقة بين الناشرين وصناع السينما، وفتح الطريق أمام مزيد من الأعمال الأدبية المصرية والعربية للوصول إلى الشاشة».
تأتي هذه المبادرة استنادًا إلى العلاقة التاريخية العميقة التي جمعت الأدب بالسينما المصرية، حيث شكلت الرواية والقصة والسيرة أحد أهم مصادر الإبداع السينمائي، وأسهمت أعمال كبار الأدباء المصريين، ومن بينهم نجيب محفوظ، وإحسان عبد القدوس، وطه حسين، وتوفيق الحكيم، في إنتاج مجموعة من أبرز الأفلام التي أصبحت علامات في تاريخ السينما المصرية والعربية. وقد منح هذا الارتباط السينما المصرية رصيدًا ثريًا من الشخصيات والحكايات والعوالم الأدبية، وأسهم في بناء أعمال اتسمت بعمقها الإنساني وتنوعها الثقافي وقوة بنيتها الدرامية، وأصبحت جزءًا من الذاكرة السينمائية العربية.
وخلال العقود الأخيرة، شهدت العلاقة بين قطاعي النشر والإنتاج السمعي البصري تراجعًا ملحوظًا، بالتزامن مع التحولات التي طرأت على صناعة المحتوى وأساليب تطوير المشروعات السينمائية والتلفزيونية. وفي الوقت نفسه، يواصل سوق النشر المصري والعربي إنتاج أعمال أدبية وسير وتجارب إنسانية تمتلك إمكانات كبيرة للتحول إلى أفلام ومسلسلات، فيما تظل فرص وصول كثير من هذه الأعمال إلى الشاشة محدودة.
ويستهدف الملتقى تقديم الملكية الفكرية الأدبية (IP) باعتبارها أحد المصادر المهمة لتطوير محتوى سمعي بصري جديد، وإتاحة الفرصة أمام المنتجين وصناع المحتوى لاكتشاف أعمال أدبية مصرية وعربية تمتلك مقومات التحول إلى أفلام ومسلسلات ومشروعات درامية. كما يسعى المهرجان من خلال المبادرة إلى الإسهام في بناء سوق أكثر تنظيمًا لحقوق الاقتباس، وتشجيع إقامة شراكات مهنية بين الناشرين والمنتجين، بما يحفظ حقوق أصحاب الأعمال ويفتح في الوقت نفسه الطريق أمام انتقالها إلى جمهور أوسع عبر مختلف أشكال العرض والمنصات.
ويمثل إطلاق الملتقى خطوة جديدة في مسار «أيام القاهرة لصناعة السينما»، من خلال توسيع دائرة المشاركين في صناعة المحتوى، وفتح مساحة جديدة أمام الناشرين والمؤلفين والمنتجين والمنصات للتواصل حول مستقبل الملكية الفكرية الأدبية وإمكانات تحويلها إلى أعمال سمعية بصرية. ويطمح مهرجان القاهرة السينمائي الدولي إلى تطور هذه المبادرة خلال الدورات المقبلة لتصبح منصة إقليمية رائدة لحقوق الاقتباس، وتسهم في اكتشاف المزيد من الأعمال الأدبية المصرية والعربية، وإيصالها إلى شاشات السينما والتلفزيون والمنصات الرقمية، بما يعيد التأكيد على العلاقة الخلاقة التي جمعت الكتاب بالسينما عبر تاريخها.

Cairo International Film Festival announces the launch of the “From Book to Screen” forum for the first time this year, as part of Cairo Industry Days, scheduled to take place from November 11 to 20, 2026. This new initiative aims to rebuild the bridge between the publishing industry and the cinema and audiovisual content sector, opening broader horizons for adapting Egyptian and Arab literary intellectual property into screenworks.
The inaugural edition of the forum features the participation of 10 major Egyptian publishing houses, namely (in alphabetical order): Al Ain, Al Karma, Al Masriah Al Lubnaniah, Al Rewaq, Bait El Hekma, Dawen, Diwan, Kotob Khan, Nahdet Misr, and Shorouk. This participation gains its significance from the established position of these houses, which publish the works of leading Egyptian writers and novelists, achieving tremendous success and widespread sales in the publishing market. These works possess strong dramatic elements and narrative structures that qualify them to transition this trusted massive success from the pages of books to the drama and film market, providing content that already enjoys a pre-existing readership base. This presence reflects the diversity characterizing the Egyptian publishing market and its wealth of literary works and intellectual property ripe for discovery and development in the audiovisual content sector.

Regarding the forum, Hussein Fahmi, President of Cairo International Film Festival, stated: “Literature has always been one of the most important tributaries of Egyptian cinema, and many of the films that made cinema history were linked to literary works by prominent writers. It is important to rediscover this vast reservoir of novels, stories, and biographies that can provide cinema with new works, characters, and tales.”
He added: “The ‘From Book to Screen’ forum aligns with the interest of Cairo International Film Festival in developing the industry and creating new spaces for collaboration among its various elements. We hope it represents a practical step toward rebuilding the relationship between publishers and filmmakers, paving the way for more Egyptian and Arab literary works to reach the screen.”
This initiative stems from the deep historical relationship between literature and Egyptian cinema. Novels, short stories, and biographies have constituted one of the most important sources of cinematic creativity. The works of major Egyptian writers, including Naguib Mahfouz, Ihsan Abdel Quddous, Taha Hussein, and Tawfiq al-Hakim, contributed to producing a collection of prominent films that became milestones in the history of Egyptian and Arab cinema. This connection granted Egyptian cinema a rich repertoire of characters, tales, and literary worlds, contributing to the creation of works characterized by human depth, cultural diversity, and strong dramatic structure, ultimately becoming part of the Arab cinematic memory.
In recent decades, the relationship between the publishing and audiovisual production sectors has seen a noticeable decline, coinciding with shifts in the content industry and methods of developing film and television projects. At the same time, the Egyptian and Arab publishing markets continue to produce literary works, biographies, and human experiences with immense potential to be adapted into films and series, yet the opportunities for many of these works to reach the screen remain limited.
The forum aims to present literary intellectual property (IP) as a vital source for developing new audiovisual content, offering producers and content creators the opportunity to discover Egyptian and Arab literary works that possess the fundamentals for adaptation into films, series, and dramatic projects.
